NBC BANS D'BANJ'S "OLIVER TWIST" + DON JAZZY'S REPLY TO IT

We reported HERE a couple of weeks ago that Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) banned 2Shortz's single 'supermandead' because he mentioned alomo in it. Well the latest gist is that Dbanj's 'Oliver Twist' has been subjected to similar ban because of the lyrics, apparently NBC has instructed all media houses not to play 'Oliver Twist' henceforth.

In discussing this, Don Jazzy CEO of Mohits Record revealed:-

"Yes boss I heard over Twitter about that. Oh well they have banned it because they have the power to do so. Let’s see how they stop people from hearing it elsewhere. We’re not the first people they’ll ban and we’ll not be the last. When u flog a child at every chance you get, after a while the child would adjust and get used to the beatings
The truth is that the person that banned this song will hear this song till he is sick of it. He will hear it at almost every party he goes to. He will hear it from the cars that will drive pass him. He will hum the melody even in his sleep. He’ll probably record his own version of the Oliver video sef lol. He is doing his job so let’s allow him exercise his power. It’s allowed. May God bless him and his hustle. No long thing

This is no longer a case of banning a song because an African drink, 'Alomo' was mentioned whereas it's okay to mention Moet in a song, but instead the issue here is the supposed 'lewd lyrics', do you think NBC has a point or have they missed the line again? Would this even affect the productivity of the new single?

Omawunmi Akinifesi's Stalker of 6years Who Still Traumatizes Her With 30 Calls A Day

Omawunmi Akinifesi the 2005 MBGN winner, Lagos State Environmental ambassador and first runner up of  Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Takes 2 Dance (Nigerian version), recently launched her website omowunmiakinnifesi.com which includes a blog called, Diva Diaries. 

In a recent post, she made an amazing revelation about her 6years ordeal with a stalker. She explained how the stalker traumatized her with sometimes up to 30 phone calls a day, and this is ongoing till date. In discussing this issue, she wrote:-

"My phone rang early January 2006 and it was the voice of a man, possibly in his late 30s or early 40s. His voice was coarse and suspicious. Innocently I said “Hello” and this marked the beginning of the terror. “Am I speaking to Omowunmi Akinnifesi?” he asked. “Yes” I replied without a hint of fear. “How are you?” He asked again. “I am fine thank you. Whom am I speaking to?” I asked. “This is…… “I admire you and I think you are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. You are charming and extremely sexy” how can I meet you? I know you like Oprah Winfrey. I can introduce you to her, she is a very good friend” he said".

Amber Rose to host Vodafone 020 Live Concert in Ghana Next Month

Vodafone Ghana confirmed via their official Facebook page that american model Amber Rose will be hosting the second edition of the annual Vodafone 020 Live concert slated for The Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre on September 20.  Last year, the show was hosted by Caroline Simpson. 

US R&B star, Trey Songz , VIP, Five5, R2Bees, Stay Jay, D Cyme, RnM and D’Banj will be performing at the show, nonetheless, Vodafone Ghana is still expected to make an official announcement later this week.

Youthful 42Years Old Ex MBGN Queen, Sabina Umeh Jabari Releases a New Single

Sabina Umeh, the 1989 MBGN winner and wife to fashion designer/ actor Kese Jabari announced the release of her new single by saying

"The Sabina act has a brand new single titled, ‘Warrior’ and a bonus single, ‘iLike’ featuring Tuface and the 'kid' Sammy". 

Since her title as MBGN Queen, she went ahead to participate in the Miss Universe, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss World, pageants, and won the Miss Personality award. After relinquishing her title, the beautiful soft-spoken damsel took to modeling and singing. A graduate of Theatre Arts, she specialised in Dance, Choreography and Acting. The mother of four is also co-founder of a music production company called Juicy Groove which has about six acts on the label.

Mikel Obi and Osaze Odemwingie Increases Security Around Their Parents

Following the traumatic incident Mikel Obi's father went through in the hands of Nigerian kidnappers for 11days, Mikel has hired plain clothe security men for his family members.
And he is not alone, as other footballers have increased security for their family members as well, including Osaze Odemwingie who is said to have surrounded his father with a number of security personnels even when he is in the house.
The state of lawlessness in Nigeria is definitely at a different level now, and it is such a shame that one can't even feel free, walk around or even stay at home without armed guards.
