1) Budgets: While a movie like Transformers (Dark of the Moon) cost $195m (30BILLION Naira) to make grossing $460m. A Nollywood movie averages N5m per movie to make. This cost covers all activities from script buying to master tape
2) Filming duration. Filming 4 Inception started June19 2009.Release was in July16 2010Nolly averages 10-14dys of shoot 2 make
3) Artiste Fee: Johny Depp was paid $20m(over 3billion Naira) 4 d film "The Tourist" Nollywood actors earn btw N500k to N1m max per movie
4) Movie Sets: 4 the blockbuster movie Titanic, The ship and ocean scene was entirely built. Same with Jurassic Park. The biggest ever Nollywood set might just be Tinsels.
5) Costumes: What's a Hollywood movie without costumes. Check out Iron Man 111. It's such a big deal it inspires costumes for Halloween. In Nollywood, costumes are a joke. Can't ever inspire a dress trend. The attitude is mostly nonchalant
6) Stunts - In Hollywood its a career. People earn btw $10k to $70k per annum performing stunts. Stunts - They don't exist in Nigeria. The actor performs all the stunts. Like "crying"
7) Equipment: Nollywood shoots with video format as against Hollywood shooting with Celluloid on 35.mm. Difference dey.
8) Soundtracks: Waiting to Exhale, Juice, and even Hangover 2 all have successful soundtracks. Only 2 notable soundtracks have been sold the proper way in Naija. They are RMD's "out of bounds" and Kasvids "The Master"
9) Stories - In Hollywood movies are not just adapted from stories. The scripts are well articulated and adapted for the movie. For e.g Christopher Nolan worked on the script for Inception for 9yrs. Stories: Nollywood stories are stereotyped. You can tell the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end
10) Casting: Daniel Radcliffe was identified as d ideal actor for Harry in Harry Porter. H/ever, he still had to undergo 8months of auditioning. Casting: in Nollywood the directors just decided who fits the role over a drink without auditions. Auditions are for newbies.
11) Marketing: Marketing budget for "Cars" and "Superman Returns" were $53.5m and $45.5m respectively. Marketing: Marketing budget in Nollywood is determined by Alaba traders and those in Onitsha. Make ur guess on their budget
